Frequently Asked Questions
Who I work with
I work with a wide range of adult individuals and couples, whether straight or LGBTQ, presenting with a variety of difficulties, including drinking problems, drug use, depression and anxiety, relationship issues, and issues related to sexuality and identity.
Length of the treatment
Depending on your needs and goals, treatment can be short-term (several sessions) or long-term.
Insurance coverage
Most insurance plans cover psychotherapy. I am not in a network with insurance companies, but many plans have out-of-network coverage. You would pay for services up front, then submit a claim to your insurance company who reimburse you for a portion or all of the cost. I am happy to provide you with the necessary statements to obtain reimbursement. The best way to verify your coverage and benefits is to call the number on your insurance card.
Psychiatric medications
As with all other aspects of psychotherapy, the degree of psychiatric medication usefulness, if any, depends on the individual and their needs.

When appropriate and when my clients agree, I suggest and refer them to psychiatrists who specialize in issues such as substance abuse, depression, anxiety, compulsive behaviors or other problems for evaluation. These are leading expert in the field of mental health. Thus, my clients receive the most up-to-date evaluation and treatment if referral for medication seems warranted.
